I feel like you should wait, but maybe I’m just biased. Really sorry that this answer is pretty late though.

Anyway, I feel like that if he at least exhibits signs of reciprocation although without knowledge of it, there’s something there. There will come a point where you will feel like enough is enough and that will be when you should have an ultimatum, and re-approach him on the subject.

I’m a romantic sap, so maybe some simple, yet meaningful things. A morning taking in the scenic view of the beach, an afternoon at a busy street-corner cafe, and an evening strolling the streets of the city.

Maybe a few hours at an arcade, tag-teaming it up to beat a few lowlifes. You know, the usual lovey dovey crap.

I just saw a post about how Helga had a better grade than Phoebe in The Aptitude Test episode and I wanted to say something but I felt it may be disrespectful to the post to put my unsolicited opinion there so here we go…

I always thought that Helga was more intelligent than Phoebe and I think that in the ‘Phoebe Cheats’ episode it’s more obvious than ever: Phoebe is clever, she remembers a lot of things, gathers a lot of info, works maybe twice or three times harder than anyone else in her class and has the best grades; but Helga is not only clever, she’s creative, she can use her mind to face her obstacles that are way harder to go through than every student in her class (and too many for a 9 year old). Helga’s mind goes farther than just equations and lessons, she is able to do great things with not even trying too hard, but behind that strong facade, she doesn’t feel she can be good enough (like she was never for her parents, living under Olga’s shadow, and Arnold, who up let’s say The Jungle Movie choses someone else rather than her). Phoebe has the knowledge to get uprgaded to the 6th grade but doesn’t have the maturity to resist it. Helga may not have the most impressive grades, but can handle the life she was given (not always in the most graceful way, but well enough). Intelligence, for me, isn’t just having good grades or remembering stuff that someone considers worthy, it’s being able to use what you know and have the best way to sort the obstacles that appear in your life. And I think Helga has being doing that since she was way too young.

Not only that, but I think Phoebe knows it. She read her poem in the poetry contest, she knows her obsession with ‘ice-cream’ and how it makes her who she really is, she roots for her and Arnold to be together because she knows she can be the best for him, she knows who Helga really is and why she hides it. I think Phoebe respects Helga and that’s why she stays beside her even when she’s being too rough or too bossy. Deep inside, Helga is more sensitive and Phoebe can keep her together, because Helga also respects Phoebe more than anyone else. Their friendship has a lot of layers and it’s much more true than what it seems.
